Rental Terms & Conditions

1. No Insurance Coverage
In accordance with Islamic finance principles, Spark Cycle does not offer or purchase conventional insurance on rented bikes. As a result, no third-party insurance payout is available in the event of theft, loss, or damage. The terms below describe how responsibility is shared between Spark Cycle and the renter for the duration of the rental period.
2. If the Bike Is Stolen
If the renter files an official police report for the theft and provides a copy to Spark Cycle, the renter is responsible for 50% of the bike's full replacement value.
If no police report is filed, the renter is responsible for 100% of the bike's full replacement value.
3. If the Bike Is Damaged
Any damage to the bike occurring during the rental period - beyond normal wear and tear - is fully covered by the renter, at full repair or replacement cost, regardless of fault or circumstance.
4. Renter Responsibilities
- Lock the bike securely with the provided lock whenever it is left unattended.
- Report any theft to Spark Cycle and, where possible, to local police as soon as it is discovered.
- Return the bike in the condition it was collected, aside from normal wear and tear.
- Return the bike to the agreed drop-off point by the end of the rental period.
5. Agreement
By confirming a rental booking, the renter acknowledges and agrees to the theft, damage, and coverage terms outlined in this policy.
